Hello! My name is Katie Barber and I am a freshman this year! I am from Rocky Point, which is on Long Island, just like the other 99.999999999% of the student body here at Cortland. I am studying Business Economics, then plan on attending culinary school after my degree to study pastry arts! I’m also on the tennis team here at Cortland so if I’m ever falling asleep in the back of class, you all know why. (Seriously, we have practice at 6:30 AM sometimes, it’s terrible!) I can’t wait to get to know you all throughout class this year!

That is so interesting that you are going to study pastry arts after college! At my summer job, I work at Carvel, and I decorate the cakes there with flowers and icing/whipped cream and it is the most fun job in the world. Its not even close to pastry arts, but I do feel like I can relate to your interests in a way because I do that on a basic level. Excited for you!
